Julia Adams has been an artist since her earliest days. As a child, she spent many hours over paper or canvas, drawing
and painting the nature and people around her. Even early on, she distinguished herself by her extraordinary imagination, and settled on a style that allowed fantasy and reality to mingle, as that imagination and
her creative personality would dictate. She has continued, over the years, to draw inspiration from nature, with trees in particular, sometimes transformed into human-like characters, playing a central role in many
of her paintings. Color has also been very important as a means of expressing her moods and feeling, and she has gone through cycles of using a narrow color palette, recently focusing on the color blue in a series
of paintings. Currently, she is working on several paintings inspired by dreams and whimsical themes, and utilizing a vibrant color palette.
Julia lives on Long Island, where she works in her home studio.
